HydroSoilWise partners gathered for their half yearly meeting on 9 and 10 September 2026. They were received at the Business Centre of Treeport in the Netherlands.
The first version of the online toolbox was shown to the partners. This toolbox will give to farmers keys to improve their soil sponge capacity, to use water more efficiently and to reduce their soil erosion. Improvements were discussed between partners. It is also planned to exchange with the potential users to match as possible with their expectations of such a tool.
To feed the tool, HydroSoilWise partners will write specific case studies to reduce floods and drought impact risks. All these information will be detailed in the toolbox and a video of each technique will support the explanation. The first video was presented during the meeting. Remarks from partners were collected and based on this, all the other videos will be recorded in the coming months.
Like
usually during HydroSoilWise meeting, every partner presented their ongoing trials
and the results associated. HydroSoilWise blog and newsletters will give you
more information about that! Like always, discussions were productive and partners
exchanged tips about their trials.

Participants did not stay inside during the whole two days, they had some fresh air following their host from the Business Centre of Treeport who showed their experimental setups. A walk between test boxes that are analysing water quality established on substrates, soil coverage, and other trials and a hike to the buffer zone trial, where measurements (water, soil, and beyond) will drive future insights, led to a lot of learning and discussions.
