Hydrosoilwise Annual Partners’ Meeting on 24 and 25 February 2026 at Geisenheim University

The partners of the HydroSoilWise project gathered for their annual meeting on 24 and 25 February 2026.  The two-day event was dedicated to scientific advances, coordination among European partners and preparations for the next stages of the project. The fruitful discussions between the partners resulted in progress on numerous topics.

The information required to complete the various technical data sheets was presented and explained in detail. The discussions that followed ensured that each partner had the necessary understanding to draft the sheets correctly. This future teamwork will result in robust technical data sheets validated by the partners.

The initial results of the survey among farmers regarding their knowledge and current use of techniques affecting soil organic matter, water use efficiency, and erosion were presented. The main barriers to the use of these techniques were identified and discussed among the partners.

Over the two days, many questions emerged regarding the design of the toolkit that will support producers in implementing the project’s techniques. The discussions gave partners the opportunity to define the challenges of this toolkit, farmers’ expectations in this regard, and how the project can address them.

As at every meeting, the partners presented the progress of their trials and their results. During this part of the meeting, partners compare their techniques, come up with ideas for adapting their trials, and have a broader discussion about the protocols followed.
